Alecia can help you reach your weight goals in a fun and positive way. Cravings might be a problem. An advisement to avoid these foods, again may be much easier said than done. Cravings may actually be a signal that your brain is working harder than normal to keep the rest of your body running the way it should. The question may actually be what are you not getting enough of in regard to specific nutrients? Lastly, the form of exercise you are choosing may actually not be the right kind based on your physiology.
Not Overweight: A significant portion of women with PCOS are not overweight. If weight loss is not necessary, insulin sensitivity, fat deposition and ovulation remain effected by diet and lifestyle. Alecia can help you identify what nutrients you may not be getting enough of in your current diet regimen.
Pregnancy and Nutrition
There are many excellent resources available for women who are expecting. Sometimes it is helpful to have reassurance to know if you have all of the recommendations straight in regards to what to avoid, and what to get enough of in your diet. Alecia can support your healthy pregnancy goals by providing a summary of what foods to include for all of the nutrients of concern as well as meal ideas and recipes. Alecia can also aid in post partum weight management.

It is very possible to lower your cholesterol and cardiovascular disease risk with diet and activity alone, of course if your physician clears you to do so. The dietary changes you can make does something that drug therapy doesn't - it helps to control other risk factors such as high blood pressure and overweight, as well as diabetes and cancer prevention.
Blood Pressure: Research has shown that following a healthy eating plan can both reduce the risk of developing high blood pressure and lower an already elevated blood pressure.

Food Sensitivities

There are three main types of adverse reactions to food (food allergy, food intolerance and food sensitivity). A food allergy is an immediate dramatic immune reaction that causes pronounced symptoms such as throat closing and severe rash. Food allergy affects 1-2% of the general population.
Food Intolerance is usually associated with an enzyme deficiency such as in lactose intolerance, in which the enzyme lactase is deficient. When the food in question is consumed, it is not properly digested and begins to ferment inside the gut creating symptoms such as bloating and diarrhea.
Food sensitivities have been implicated in over 35 different health conditions and are very common, affecting 20-30% of the American population. Symptoms can manifest up to 72 hours after ingestion, they are dose dependent (a small amount may not pose a problem), and triggers are highly patient specific. Elimination diets are often recommended for patients who have conditions associated with food sensitivities (IBS, Migraine and many others), although elimination diets are time consuming and often not practical.
To help identify what the true culprits are, the MRT (Mediator Release Test) can be used. MRT is a patented blood panel available to help isolate combinations of substances such as food and additives that provoke signs and symptoms. Alecia has been trained in the coordination and interpretation of the results of the MRT test. Upon receiving the results of the test, she will assist you in devising a balanced meal plan. She will provide assistance with recipes, meal ideas, utilizing new foods, and identifying hidden substances in food items that may cause reactions. To gain full benefit and relief from your symptoms, utilizing a trained Dietitian (“CLT”) to help guide you through the dietary protocols, is highly recommended.
There is a wide range of other difficult to treat conditions that are also commonly associated with reactions to foods. These include but are not limited to recurrent headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, fatigue, chronic sinusitis, eczema, autism spectrum disorders, and hyperactivity with or without ADD.
